Well it’s the final day of 2008 and the Napali Coast really delivered today.
We had some very heavy rains last night. This resulted in the most spectacular waterfall show I have ever seen on the Na Pali Coast. I counted 25 waterfalls, all within view at the same time.

We had a great dolphin encounter, whales all over the place, and we watched some surfers take on the huge swells. One of the surfers took a big fall and snapped his board in half. We picked him up and gave him a ride in.

Overrall an awesome way to say goodbye to 2008 and hello to a great 2009.

Kauai Napali Coast Tours

We came across a huge, male humpback whale today. His 3,000 mile journey has finally come to an end here on Kauai. We came upon him just as he began slamming his tail hard against the water. He wants to let all the other whales know that he is in town. It was an awesome sight. The noise of his tail slamming the ocean was deafening. Below the surface this sound is louder and can be heard for many miles. He was letting all the females know that he is powerful and strong. The juvenile males will get the hint and stay away.

The weather is absolutely PERFECT on today’s Napali Coast Tour.

The water was very calm and the rain is slowing down dramatically. We were able to get into the open ceiling cave and the pirates cave. Dolphins were showing off and we even saw some sea turtles.

The whales are beginning to show up in big numbers. We saw some whales breaching in the distance.

Just another perfect day on the Napali Coast in Kauai.

Hope everyone had an awesome Christmas!

We definitely had a great time on the Napali Coast today. Straight out of the harbor we ran into a giant pod of Spinner dolphins. They were doing their show for us and we had a great experience with them. As we headed back we ran into a very curious juvenile Humpback whale. This is just some of the footage that I was able to capture.

Wow! It was a beautiful day on the Napali Coast in Kauai. Water was calm and we saw a LOT of dolphins enjoying the sunshine. We came across a massive pod of dolphins as they came up to the boat and did a great show for us. The whales were out and we were able to see several as they dove for the deep.

Well, the bad rain and clouds finally left. It was the first perfect Kauai day we have had in three weeks.

The ocean was calm and we were able to enjoy a mild day on the water. We spotted several whales on the way back.

Overall, another epic day on the Na Pali!

We were able to get into the open ceiling cave today. First time in three weeks. The stormy weather we have had is slowly moving away. YEAH!

Kauai Napali Coast Waterfalls

What can we say? So much rain that all we have to report are that the waterfalls are just spectacular.

Kauai Napali Coast

After 3 straight days of torrential rains we were finally able to get out to Na Pali Coast. We were the only boat out on the Na Pali, so our passengers literally had Kauai all to themselves.

The water was dark chocolate color, so needless to say it didn’t look very inviting for a snorkel. However, the waterfalls were unbelievable!

Kauai Activities :: Napali Coast Whale Watching

Well, it looks like the whales are really starting to stake their claim on Kauai. We saw several females right offshore. They were acting very shy and tracking them was tough. We were still able to observe them for about 30 minutes.

Ran into a large pod of dolphins within 20 minutes of launching out of the harbor. Lots of mothers and babies.

We even saw flying fish jumping all around us. (Yes, there are fish that can fly)

We headed on down the Na Pali and were able to get into the Open Ceiling Cave. It has been awhile since the seas were calm enough for us to get into this cave, and we felt luck to do this in the middle of December of all times!

Yet another FANTASTIC day on the Na Pali.
