Beautiful photo of a green sea turtle floating just below the surface. The green sea turtles in Hawaii are a threatened species. In contrast, Kauai’s Spinner dolphins are very abundant.

Kauai Whale Watching Season

As we get into February, the Humpback whales become very active on Kauai. The photo below is of a whale breaching near our raft.

Kauai’s Humpback whales are back for the season. The season will last from Dec. 2009 to May 2010. The activity will increase in Jan-Mar, so this would be the optimal time for whale watching tours with Napali Riders.

Kauai Dolphin Tours

Spinner dolphins were jumping in the air right in front of the boat. Photo shows a few of them in mid-air, but there were actually hundreds of dolphins below the water.
