Today we encountered a huge pod of Spinner dolphins on Napali Coast, and they surrounded the boat on all sides. Our snorkeling tour was also really fantastic, the water was warm and clear.

Dolphins really showed their acrobatic skills off today on Napali Coast. The best part was watching the multiple spins they performed right in front of the boat.
The dolphins are right under the surface of the water, and in the raft, that’s about a one-arm distance from where we were sitting when this video was taken along Napali Coast.
It’s the beginning of August 2009 and our Napali Coast tours are now getting the best summer conditions. This video shows how we stopped in a sea cave on Napali Coast and let the passengers get an up close view of the inside.

Our dolphin tours get really close to these friendly creatures.
Today we toured the inside of the Open Ceiling Cave. You will actually feel like you were on our boat when watching the video (don’t get sea sick!)
Next we captured video of an amazing waterfall. We just had a lot of rain on Kauai, so the waterfall was flowing well. This waterfall is coming through a hole in the ceiling of a sea cave on Na Pali Coast.
Three Spinner dolphins were in front of the raft in this photo, but there were at least a hundred dolphins surrounding the boat on our way up to Napali Coast.

Today can best be described as a dolphin family reunion. Right off of Makaha Ridge we ran into a HUGE pod of Dolphins. There were at least 500+ all around us. They were obviously having some type of jumping competition. The young ones were showing off as they leaped 15-20 feet through the air. We watched for about 30 minutes and then realized that we were supposed to be checking out the Napali. We reluctantly moved on and saw the Napali all lit up with the bright summer sun. We even got into the caves. WOW what a day!

Headed out to the Na Pali Coast this morning looking for a mother and calf for an early morning feeding. We found just what we were looking for and slowly approached and cut engines hoping that they would come our way. They were moving towards us and we were able to get a good look at mom and baby. After awhile of being awed by the two of them we continued on to the Napali. The seas were a little bumpy but the northwest winds that were predicted didn’t really materialize, so we continued and were treated to the magnificence of the Na Pali Coastline. We came across several whales on our return and were treated to a few slow tail submersions (deep dives).
