Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ's)

Why should I choose Z-Tourz over the other boat companies on Kauai?
Our boats have shallow drafts and excellent flotation, thus maximizing the weight-carrying ability.  With these durable and trustworthy boats, we are able to land in normally inaccessible areas such as secluded beaches and shallow coral reefs (excellent for snorkeling).  We are also able to discover the Napali Coast sea caves, which larger boats cannot do.
What kind of raft do you have?
Our vessel is a 24 foot, Zodiac brand, inflatable raft. Zodiac is the manufacturer of extremely safe and secure vessels for patrol, rescue, and military use.  The U.S. Coast Guard utilizes the Zodiac raft for its search and rescue missions.  The Zodiac raft is the #1 choice for Na Pali Coast tours, due to its size, limited passenger load (18 pax), and fun ride.
Which harbor do you depart from?
We leave from Kikiaola Small Boat Harbor, located in Waimea.  This harbor is on the West Shore of Kauai, and is the closest and fastest route to the Napali Coast.  Compare our route to other companies to see why we are able to spend more time along the Napali Coast, and less time getting there!  View the Na Pali Route
How much of the Napali Coast do you cover?
We are the only raft tour company that covers the entire Napali Coast (all 17 miles).  Our turning point is at Hanakapiai Beach.
What can I expect to see on the tour?
Whales (in season), Spinner dolphins, sea turtles, tropical sea birds, flying fish, colorful reef fish, secluded beaches, sea caves, dramatic cliffs, lava tubes, volcanic craters, movie spots, etc...
Should pregnant women and people with back problems go on the tour?
No pregnant women please.  Those with chronic back problems should also avoid the tour.
