When Can You Visit The Na Pali Coast

Dry Caves on the Na Pali Coast

The Na Pali Coast is located in one of the most beautiful places on earth. If you’ve ever seen pictures of it, you know what we’re talking about! Unfortunately, many people are under the impression that they can only visit the Na Pali Coast during the summer months. This isn’t true! In this blog post, we will discuss when you can visit the Na Pali Coast and some of the things you can do while you’re there.

What Is The Na Pali Coast?

The Na Pali coast is located on the northwestern part of the Hawaiian island of Kauai. It is famous for its towering cliffs and valleys, dramatic waterfalls, and breathtaking coastline. Most of the Na Pali Coast is inaccessible, but there are still a variety of ways to explore it.

How To Visit The Na Pali Coast

The Na Pali coast is a remote and mostly uninhabited part of Kauai. Because of its harsh coastline and mountainous terrain, it can be hard to get a good look at it. The main ways to see the Na Pali Coast are a boat tour along the coast, a helicopter tour, or hiking into the valleys and mountains.

These are all great ways to explore the coast and you can pick whatever sounds best for you. Each one has its pros and cons, and if you have the time and money – try a few out!

If you like getting some exercise you should consider kayaking the Na Pali Coast as well. This lets you explore at your own pace. If you’re still wondering how to plan, check out our Na Pali Coast travel guide. This gives you an in-depth breakdown of how to plan for this unique destination.

The Na Pali Coast Is Accessible Year-Round

The Na Pali Coast is accessible year-round! However, we recommend visiting during the dry season, which runs from April to November. The reason for this is that the rainy season can make it difficult to access certain parts of the coast. Additionally, the weather during the rainy season is not ideal for hiking or camping.

If you do choose to visit during the wetter months, we recommend bringing a raincoat and waterproof shoes. You’ll also want to be aware of flash flood warnings. They can happen very fast and come unexpectedly because of the rain being somewhere further up the valley.

When Is The Best Time To See The Na Pali Coast?

The best time to see the Na Pali Coast is during the dry season. The reason for this is that you’ll have better access to the entire coast and the weather will be more conducive to activities like hiking and camping. Additionally, the water will be calmer during this time, making it ideal for swimming, snorkeling, and kayaking.
